Artist statement: “As an artist, I like to build when I create.  I am always fighting the idea of form or function.  Weaving is such a fundamental form of art in every culture, mostly overlooked for artistic quality but for functionality. My artwork is combining a variety of skills and media to communicate my creative expression. My artwork is more to keep my hands busy to express my creative expression.  I use materials that are traditional to learn more skills and techniques, but I am not afraid use alternative materials that contradict the tradition.”

Dr. Evans holds degrees including Art History (BA), Art Education (MA), Educational Research (MS), and Curriculum & Instruction (EdD).  jevans1@Lander.edu
