Early abstract painters exploring music and spirituality through color and design.
Michelangelo + Edmonia Lewis

Sculptors of marble in sublime realism, three centuries and a continent apart.
Rembrandt + Judith Leyster
Both Dutch Golden Age painters; exquisite counterparts in talent and style.
Vincent van Gogh + Firelei Báez

A shared passion for color that leaps from the canvas; both bring passion and deep societal concerns to their subjects and visual concepts.
Keith Haring + Nina Chanel Abney
Both have a playful yet provocative style; reflects contemporary graphics and cartoon-like style; some adult imagery and themes. 
Jean-Michel Basquiat + Hannah Hoch
A shared anti-establishment visuality and anti-power messaging in non-traditional art forms and style.
